Social media is a major contributor to today’s major problems. Mainly the rise in the use of the internet has allowed people to maintain close contact with friends from all over the world. Such uses also make social media a reasonable alternative to controversial topics. However, it results in many social illnesses.

Teenagers frequently worry about their social media accounts and log on, neglecting important tasks in the process. Therefore, youth addiction to social networking sites can harm their mental health and their future. Youths’ physical health is also greatly impacted by the addiction to social media because they spend so much time on different social media platforms and don’t engage in any physical activities like running, playing outdoor games, or exercising. Due to lack of physical activity youngsters are vulnerable to various heart diseases, several cancer, and most commonly obesity.
In conclusion, it is important to consider mental health so that using it won’t have any negative effects. Furthermore, social media's benefits and drawbacks allow you to communicate and stay up to date, join or promote worthwhile causes, and raise awareness on important issues. It can be beneficial if social media is used properly.
